Where Does God Fit?
Where does God fit?
Have you asked yourself this question before? Quite often we can find ourselves subtly asking this about the big arenas of our lives. Where does God fit into my life at work? School? Hobbies? Where does God fit in my relationships with my friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and acquaintances?
Chris Wright answers that question and challenges us to reconsider that question in his book The Mission of God. When we are self-focused instead of Christ-centered we often ask this question, “Where does God fit into the story of my life?” Wright says, the real question is, “Where does my little life fit into this great story of God’s Mission?”
Do you see your spheres of influence, where you work and play, as a stewardship? Do you see those nearest to you as a stewardship? Not as a project to be completed, but people created in the image of God to be loved and listened to, care for and encouraged with the truth and beauty of the gospel.
I hope you and I can flip this switch. And if we do the more satisfied we will be when we see God’s glory as the ultimate and most beautiful, life-giving, and awe-inspiring purpose of our lives.
To help us fit our little lives into God’s glorious story there are a few resources to help us to that.
